New plaster must dry before it can be painted. Applying standard emulsion to wet plaster seals the surface, traps moisture, and causes the paint to flake within weeks. Mist Coat Application
A mist coat is a diluted emulsion applied to bare new plaster to seal the surface without blocking it. Standard emulsion applied undiluted to new plaster is absorbed unevenly, leaving a patchy finish that shows through subsequent coats.
First and Second Fix
On active construction sites, decoration often happens in two phases. First fix covers the initial coat on walls and ceilings before skirtings, architraves, and other joinery are fitted. Second fix finishes the walls and paints all joinery once it is in place.

Here’s How It Works
1. Survey
We visit the property and check the plaster condition across every surface on the schedule. We confirm drying progress, check for any defects that need addressing, and agree the start date based on what the plaster needs.
2. Mist coat
A diluted mist coat is applied to all fresh plaster surfaces. We use the correct dilution for the plaster age and conditions. The coat is allowed to absorb fully before we proceed.
3. First topcoat

4. Second topcoat
